STPA Certification Project: Get the instruction and guided practice needed to qualify for the official STPA Practitioner Certificate. It builds on foundational STPA training and leads you through a structured mini-project in which you apply STPA across four iterations, receive instructor feedback, and produce a final submission evaluated against the certification criteria.
STPA Certification Project
You will be guided through an STPA mini project to apply for the STPA Practitioner Certificate. You will choose a system and apply STPA using the provided templates. You will complete four iterations, starting with simple control-loop models and culminating in a Mini-Project Report. You will submit your work at each iteration and receive individual instructor comments and feedback to incorporate into the next iteration. The final submission is evaluated against the STPA certificate criteria. If the criteria are met, you will receive the official STPA Practitioner Certificate. The certificate provides an official qualification and verification that you can independently apply STPA correctly and demonstrate practitioner-level competence in STPA.
Prerequisites: Prior to this course, you must complete the System Safety and STPA course to learn the basics of STPA. It is also recommended that you attend an STPA hands-on live exercise.
When: You will complete the STPA project over the course of four weeks during February 2026.
